Faux Outrage

Literally the most important blog in the universe since 2010.

Every so often, you will be given the opportunity to learn something while reading this blog.  (Preemptive apology: You are about to be compared to a horse in an analogy.)  But you know what they say: you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it think.

I present to you the first entry in a multi-part series Faux Word of the Day!  Today’s word is punintentional.

punintentional (pnn-tnsh-nl)
adj.

a not deliberate use of words or phrases that exploit ambiguities and innuendoes in their meaning, to accidental (and of course, very awesome) humorous effect.

For example: “I was on pins and needles waiting for my appointment, but the guy who performed my acupuncture that I got stuck with was a bloody prick who kept needling me about my Pokémon collection!  I’ll point him out once I’ve pinpointed which one is him.”

Use it.  Just don’t expect anyone to be your friend after you do.
